My Skincare Problem Series: Neglecting my skin

Okay so this week, I want to continue my skin problem series. For this week I want to talk about a problem I have developed recently. In the last couple of weeks, I have not taken the time to do my proper skincare regimen. For example, when I wear makeup, I only wash my face once. My typical makeup routine is to wash my face twice with an oil cleanser and water-based cleanser. I also have been going outside without sunscreen. Most of the time, I do this because I am rushing, and I don’t have time to put it on. The main reason why I’ve been neglecting my skin is that I have been so busy with school and work.

As you may know, I am a college student (this blog is an assignment for class). By this being my junior year, many of my classes have started to pick up and give me more homework. I have had to stay up late multiple times to finish my homework. I also work part-time. I work at least three days a week for 9 hours. With my heavy workload, I haven’t had a lot of free time to myself. Moreover, my workload has increased in the last two weeks. So, when I finish my homework or get off work, I am too tired to properly care for my face.

Despite my workload, I do want to get back to caring for my skin. I have made a lot of progress with my skin, and I know that these two weeks can ruin my progress. So, for this week, I will try to take homework breaks at night. I want to spend at least 5 minutes doing my skin routine. On the days that I have to work, I plan on washing my face the moment I walk into the house, so I can get it done before I get tired. I will keep you all updated if this plan works.

  1. I completely feel you on neglecting our skin recently because of the business! I'm a full time student, senior looking for jobs, working an internship, working a part time job, and being on an exec board. It's super hard to keep up especially with it being the middle/nearly the end of the semester! But we got this! Your idea of spending at least 5 minutes during homework breaks is great.

  2. Taking time to take care of yourself during times when you have a larger workload can be extremely difficult. I also work a par-time internship so I totally understand feeling overwhelmed and having to put some things on the back burner. I definitely think having a goal of spending at least 5 minutes on your skin care routine is a great idea! I believe you will be able to make your plan work. - Marisa
