My Skincare Problems Series: A Story about my Pimple
This week will be the last week of my skincare problem series. First and foremost, I want to give a warning that this week’s blog might be graphic for some people. So today, I want to talk about my issue with popping my pimples. I know this sounds soo disgusting. However, I can’t stop picking my face. I often find myself examining the bumps on my face and picking them even if they aren’t ready to pop. When I get a dark mark from my actions, it takes weeks to months to go away.
For example, I have a bump on my cheek right now. As I talked about last week, I have not been taking care of my skin how I should. This caused a pimple to form on the right side of my face. Yesterday, I was so tired from looking at it I decided to pop it. Normally, I only pop bumps when it is a whi1te head. Although it wasn’t a white head, I still popped it. Now anyone who has ever done this knows I made a big mistake.
This morning, I woke up to a large scar on my face, which looks worse than the bump. Now, I have to wait even longer for my hyperpigmentation (the scar from the pimple) to go away. Although I am more upset, I learned to be more patient next time. I should treat my pimples and wait for them to go down. I will continue to work on this problem so that I won’t have this issue again. Let me know in the comments if you have an issue with picking your face.

I struggle with the same thing! Every time there is a bump on my face or shoulders I have to pick at it! This has always got me in so much trouble with scabs and scars but no matter how many times I make it worse I never seem to learn my lesson. I do have to say, since I have started using niacinamide from The Ordinary, I seem to have a lot less opportunities to do this to myself!!
